Procédure pour installer DiagBox de la version 7.01 à la version 7.850 (Windows XP pour les vieux PC et Windows 7 32 Bits en respectant les recommandations de “Simple”. Marche avec et sans émulation de machines virtuelles.

Configuration initiale :
Hôte (uniquement avec émulation Virtual Box)
Oracle VM VirtualBox 5.20.0r118431 (Qt5.6.2)
Win7 SP1 64 bits avec les dernières mises à jour Microsofts, pare feu et Microsoft Security Essentials activés
Gestion de l’énergie des disques durs : jamais en veille
Invité ou PC
Pour XP:
Version propre ou initiale SP3 32 bits de Microsoft
. Pour Win7:
Version propre ou initiale SP1 32 bits de Microsoft
Oracle VM VirtualBox Guest Addition 5.2.1 (uniquement avec Virtual Box)
Pare feu non activé
Gestion de l’énergie des disques durs : jamais en veille
Pas d’anti virus installé avant l’installation de DiagBox
Pas d’accès réseau public (pilote réseau correctement installé et prise RJ45 déconnectée ou WiFi désactivé)
Adobe Reader 9 (Version 9.3.3)
WinRAR (Version 5.40)
UltraIso (Version 9.5.2.2836)
Oracle Java 7 update 80 : jre-7u80-windows-i586
Microsoft .net framework : version 3.5.30720.01

Appliquer les installations en respectant les recommandations de “Simple” et en supposant que c:\ est le répertoire racine d’installation de DiagBox

Lancer DiagBox Update V7.xx to V7.57.exe
Mes commentaires*: si après le reboot, quand on lance DiagBox, la mise à jour échoue (message NOK), restaurer le répertoire sauvegardé fi dans c:\AWRoot\bin, rebooter et redémarrer DiagBox pour compléter l’installation

Mes commentaires: si après le reboot, quand on lance DiagBox, la mise à jour échoue (message NOK), restaurer le répertoire sauvegardé fi dans c:\AWRoot\bin, rebooter et redémarrer DiagBox pour compléter l’installation

Commentaires intéressants :
Lorsqu’on utilise un environnement virtuel (VirtualBox), toujours copier les fichiers d’installation sur la machine invitée (éviter de lancer des exécutables d’installation sur des fichiers réseau partagés)
Pas pour la première installation mais pour les mises à jour toujours redémarrer le pc avant d’exécuter DiagBox
Batch de command utile quand l’exécutable de mise à jour ne veut pas se lancer : Kill_DiagBox_Tasks.bat
A tout moment la langue d’utilisation de DiagBox peut être modifée dans le fichier C:\AWRoot\dtrd\trans\Language.ini en changeant en dessous de la balise [LANGUAGE] "Current=en_GB" par "Current=fr_FR" et vice versa
La version de Diagbox est conservée dans le fichier c:\AWRoot\bin\fi\Version.ini

Network connected
Guest or stand alone hard PC
For XP:
Clean version of SP3 32 bits delivered by Microsoft
. For Win7:
Clean version of SP1 32 bits delivered by Microsoft
Oracle VM VirtualBox Guest Addition 5.2.1 (only with Virtual Box emulation)
Firewall switched to off.
Hard Disk Power management: never in sleep mode
No Anti Virus installed
No network access (devices correctly installed and RJ45 cable or WiFi disconnected)

Interesting Comments:
When using virtual environment (VirtualBox), always copy the installation files on the Guest machine (avoid running exe installation with network shared files)
Not for the first installation but for updates always restart your pc before running DiagBox
Useful batch command file when update exe file fails running: Kill_DiagBox_Tasks.bat
Every time language can be switched in the file C:\AWRoot\dtrd\trans\Language.ini by changing under [LANGUAGE] "Current=en_GB" by "Current=fr_FR" and vice versa
Version of Diagbox is stored in the file c:\AWRoot\bin\fi\Version.ini
