I have tried this on a number of machines without a problem. I hope you did not make changes in "AWRoot".
Restore your backup copy of "APPDIAG.SYS", if it still does not work, then restore the old APP folder and restore APPDIAG.SYS.
Please provide me with your setup details and what did you try, I will try to replicate what you have done to see what is the problem.
