It also doesn't hurt to clean the sensor on the camshaft, although it is much less sensitive to dirt. Those two sensors are crucial for engine operation. It happened to me that it didn't want to start the engine, and the ECU didn't report any error. After cleaning those two sensors, there was never a problem with starting the engine.
