Have any members on here had issues when installing Diagbox on Windows 7?

I'm using 32-bit, Pro version - in a Virtual Machine on my Mac (VMWare Fusion 6). When it gets to the initial activation, it fails with a status code of 0. I've got the language set to US, I've tried with the network adaptor enabled and disabled, and also with and without UAC working.

If I do exactly the same process using Windows XP, it's works as it should. :@

I've been using XP + Lexia 46 for some years now, and would like this opportunity to upgrade both the OS and software.

No problems with install Diagbox on Win7 en 32bit. I have also installed Diagbox on pc with Win8.1 en 32 bit. OS must be 32 bit.

I'm using 32-bit Windows 7. Its strange that it works fine with XP, but activation issues with Windows 7. I'm going to try creating a Virtual Machine using a different software first, and then import it into VMWare. I've seen a few posts on the internet that VMWare has caused issues in the past.

As mentioned, it worked fine in Virtual Box. I've tried subsequently importing into VMWare but then Diagbox needs reactivating.

I'll just have to get used to using Virtual Box I guess!

I have installed MD and Diagbox many times on VMware 8/9 without problem.

I wonder if VMWare Fusion is a bit different then? It's the latest VMWare fusion 6 running on OS X.

Hey guys, same issue there ! No way to enable DB 7 in a virtual machine with Win7 and VMplayer (even in an XP VM if my memory is good) !

I tried many things arround network NAT, firewall, internet connection sharing, UAC, NO WAY !!!

You're not alone guys ^^

I'll try with VirtualBox !

It is not the problem with vmware VM, but with controler on which boot HDD is insatled. it must be IDE no SCSI, which vmware choose by default (as can not be changed to IDE other way than editing wmx file). As with SCSI you get activation error = 0.

burn the iso to a disc as it has to be installed from a physical disc, i had this problem untill i figured that out, the updates can be done from hard drive but the 1st install has to be done from a disc

the problem can be that the diagbox installer detects the virtual machine and doesnt install?. Try This

Edit the VM Settings and add this

isolation.tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation.tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation.tools.setVersion.disable = "TRUE"
isolation.tools.getVersion.disable = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_directexec = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_chksimd = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_ntreloc = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_selfmod = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_reloc = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btinout = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btmemspace = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btpriv = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btseg = "TRUE"

From my expirience it will be enought to add 1mb IDE drive to VMware virtual machine to make sure that activation code is different than 0
