The solution to this problem was as expected from the beginning, removing or commenting "version=08.xx" in "version.ini" and setting it to "version=07.xx" resolves the issue with Lexia and PP2000, like this:

[APPLICATION]
Version=07.817

This is explained in the DiagBox 8.01 Installation (updated) thread under Versions.

However, there is an interesting point here. When the option "Hide extensions for known file types" in the File Manager menu is checked, then file extensions do not show. In this case the user may be editing a file named "version.ini.txt" which will not work.

Hence, ensure that the option "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked so that you see file extensions.

DiagBox 7.xx ends at 7.77. the rest is made up.. but if you insist, it virtually be 07.102

But you can enter 07.838 and it will work fine and it will give accurate indication of your DiagBox v8.
